Pattaya Girls Escape from Prostitution Ring

Two Pattaya girls who were forced to work as prostitutes in Bahrain have managed to escape their captors. The two girls from Pattaya were lured to Bahrain by a gang of prostitute traffickers. The unwitting Pattaya girls were told that they were being hired as maids. Once they arrived in Bahrain, however, the situation quickly turned sour.

The Thai girls were forced to work on the streets as prostitutes and to give the money they earned to the gang members. When the girls refused, they were reportedly beaten and tortured until they complied.

In a daring move by the Pattaya girls, they managed to seek refuge in the Thai embassy in Bahrain where they lamented their ordeal. According to the girls, they were not the only ones to have fallen into the clutches of the Bahraini gang. It’s suspected that other girls from Pattaya are still being held against their will.

Once the Thai Embassy became involved, authorities acted quickly to round up the gang.

Yesterday, the police from the Human Trade Division of Thailand made the first arrest of a suspect in the Pattaya area. The police were aided in the capture by officials at The Bahrain Embassy in Bangkok who reportedly provided police with the location of one of the suspects.

According to police, a Bahraini citizen, Mohamed Ebrahim Yasuf Naser Isa, was apprehended at the Marine Plaza Hotel. The man is allegedly part of the gang of traffickers, but he has denied the charges.

Besides the arrests that were made in Pattaya, other gang members were rounded up in Bahrain in a co-operative effort of both Thai and Bahraini officials. Police believe that there are other gang members still at large in Pattaya and are seeking clues as to their whereabouts.
