Pattaya Girls were busted at Champagne Agogo

Once again, alert Pattaya Police have uncovered Pattaya girls engaging in prostitution at a Pattaya gogo bar. This week three girls were literally uncovered, all naked in same bed, with a foreign man in their midst. This time the scene of the crime was Champagne Agogo on Soi LK. Who could have imagined that prostitution would be occurring in a gogo bar in Pattaya?

The Pattaya Girls of Champagne Agogo are famous for their friendliness. This is one of my favorite go go bars in the LK Metro Entertainment area. They have gorgeous dancers, there’s a “naughty stage” where the girls dance completely naked, and a glassed-in shower area where naked girls perform all kinds of antics.

Besides that, Champagne Agogo has rooms available right on premises that you can rent for a short while if you have the urge to talk to one of the lovely ladies in private. No one ever suspected that the Champagne girls would be engaging in prostitution in these very rooms.

If any of you were up on Soi LK Metro last Thursday at around midnight, you must have noticed the commotion at Champagne Agogo. It was quite a scene as police rounded up all of the dancers, the manager, and the hostesses. The whole Champagne crew was hauled off to jail and charged with prostitution.

Police burst into the gogo bar, headed straight upstairs to the short time rooms, and busted any girl caught with her pants down. Apparently, it was only the girls that were rounded up. No foreign punters were detained by police, although it must have been a real shocker for the hapless guy found with the three girls.

LK Metro Entertainment Area is located near the intersection of Soi Diana and Soi Buakhao. It contains such popular venues as the Devils Den, Club Blue, and The Office Agogo. Right around the corner is Club Oasis. It remains a mystery why Champagne was singled out for the bust. Champagne is rated 4 Stars in our Pattaya Go Go 2011 ratings.

The Prime Minister himself canceled the Pattaya curfew.

Thai government officials wisely canceled the curfew in Pattaya in response to public outrage Friday night.  The decision was met with cheers and merriment on Walking Street. Yes boys, the Pattaya Girls are back in business,

As everyone knows, Pattaya comes alive at night. The curfew threatened to completely stifle the Pattaya economy and indeed the whole nation’s economy. Hundreds of business owners, thousands of bar girls, as well as hoards of punters let their displeasure with the curfew be known. Thankfully, government responded.

It started with the Mayor of Pattaya who appealed to the Governor of Chonburi Province. The appeal then made its way all the way up to the Prime Minister’s desk. The Prime Minister himself lifted the curfew. Who said the Pattaya girls don’t have clout?

Police officials actually went down to Walking Street to make the announcement and the big Samsung sign at the entrance proclaimed, “No Curfew”. The Police Chief and the Mayor then glad-handed their way up and down Walking Street mingling with punters and bar girls who celebrated the news. What a relief!

The announcement came a little too late for some of the bars and a few of our favorite venues remained closed Friday night because they didn’t get the word in time. But, it was business as usual on Saturday, Friends, come on back to town.

Bangkok apparently remains under curfew, but tourists who arrive at Suvarnabhumi Airport are currently being issued safe-conduct passes. The pass allows you to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya during curfew hours. No one has been stranded at the airport.

A few bar owners, including our friends at the Devil’s Den, have offered to personally go up to the airport and transport their clients down to Pattaya if need be.

As a result of all of this turmoil, there may be some deals to be had as Pattaya girls hustle to make up for lost time and lost revenue.

Police patrolled most of Pattaya on Wednesday and Thursday nights enforcing the curfew.

If you were planning a trip to Pattaya this week, you couldn’t have picked a worse time to come. Pattaya, like Bangkok, was placed under a strict night time curfew on Wednesday and Thursday nights after violent riots erupted in Bangkok during the day. It doesn’t look any better for the weekend either. It looks like we’re in for a long haul.

Bangkok is in a complete mess after the riots of Wednesday. That’s right guys, I said riots. Many of Bangkok’s most popular shopping areas were burnt to the ground by red shirt protestors. Five people were killed on Wednesday, bringing the total to 40. I haven’t ever seen it this bad.

All over the country on Wednesday, people were glued to their television sets where scenes of smoke and fire continued throughout the day. It was the Thai version of 9/11.

Up until now the political strife has been confined to Bangkok. Now it’s affecting many provinces. There are 23 of the Northern provinces under curfew at the moment. Even Chang Rai, all the way  up on the Myanmar border, is under curfew.

So far, the problem hasn’t spread to the south.  If you have a steady Pattaya girl already, I suggest you grab your girl, pack up, and head down to Krabi. Go spend some time at Railay Beach. This might be a good time for a girlfriend experience away from Pattaya. Pattaya at the moment is not fun.

In Pattaya, the effects were very subtle at first. Moviegoers at Central Festival were asked to leave the theater and evacuate the mall. Central Festival in Bangkok, meanwhile, was up in flames. Next, the Big C in North Pattaya was evacuated in what later turned out to be a phony bomb threat.

I’m telling you guys, Pattaya sucks right now (I never thought I’d say it). Don’t get me wrong. As of right now, there has been NO violence in Pattaya. But, all of our favorite venues are closed at night, no Pattaya beer bars, no Pattaya gogo bars. You’re not even allowed out of your hotel between 9 pm and 5 am. Are you kidding me? What could be a bigger bummer than that? Maybe next week will bring a lighter mood. Let’s hope so.

In the meantime, if you’re in town, grab a Pattaya girl during the daytime and get ready to hunker down for the night.

Pattaya 2 Road was closed down last night because of a fire at Welcome Plaza

There’s never a dull moment in Pattaya and last night was no exception.  Reports of fire at an art shop near the Welcome Plaza Hotel caused police to close off Pattaya 2 Road right at the busy intersection of South Pattaya Rd. The event happened around 9:45 pm on Thursday night and traffic wasn’t restored until 10:30 pm.

Punters with their Pattaya girlfriends in toe were perplexed by the closing. Ordinarily, Pattaya 2 is the main thoroughfare heading north to the hotels. The intersection where the road was blocked is usually a good spot to hop on a baht bus with a Pattaya girl and head for home.

Tourists were left with their mouths hanging open, not knowing which way to go or where to head. Most tourists are familiar with the north/south route that the baht buses normally take. But with the closure, people were reluctant to take the more adventurous detour routes, not knowing where they might end up.

Traffic was diverted east on South Pattaya Road which quickly became a mess. Most punters ducked into nearby beer bars to await the street’s reopening.

Meanwhile, fire trucks and police were dispatched to the art shop near Welcome Plaza to fight the blaze. There was quite a commotion in front of the hotel. Apparently, a lot of merchandise was destroyed in the fire before firefighters were able to gain control. Fortunately, no one was injured in the mishap and the street was reopened allowing traffic to resume its normal pattern.

Pattaya firefighters were quick to arrive at the scene.

Pattaya beer bars served beer in a mug complete with a candle to celebrate Maka Buscha

Pattaya’s famous Walking Street was dark Sunday night. There were plenty of tourists out walking around, but the Pattaya girls stayed home. I couldn’t find even one Pattaya Go Go bar open in the entire area. Believe me, I searched.

I was counting on at least one Pattaya go go to open up clandestinely, but no such luck. Those of you who were in Pattaya for the King’s Birthday in December remember that The Sea Agogo stayed open by candlelight in spite of the ban. Not so, last night.

Police had put the word out… stay closed or face the consequences. At any rate, the Pattaya girls got a much needed holiday Sunday night, so hopefully they’ll be all rested and twice as playful the rest of the week.

Sunday night’s closure was meant to celebrate Maka Buscha. This holiday takes place on the full moon of the 21st lunar month. For Westerner’s not in tune with the lunar calendar, it’s hard to tell just exactly when that is. It’s a different day each year. It’s an important public holiday throughout Thailand.

The day commemorates an event that took place in ancient times. Buddha, after his enlightenment, made his famous Dharma speech in front of 1250 disciples who had miraculously assembled for the event.

Sunday night the holiday was celebrated in temples all over Thailand with merit making ceremonies. People parade around the temples in candlelit processions, going around the temple three times. It’s really something to see. Every year Chaimongkol Temple in South Pattaya is packed with both Thais and Westerners observing the rights.

Meanwhile, those of us who were seeking more secular pleasures on Walking Street were disappointed. There were a few Pattaya beer bars open if you really looked hard. I had my beer served up in a coffee cup, complete with a candle, in observance of the holiday.

Things will be back to normal tonight.

Catz A Go Go was raided this week by Pattaya police.

In what appears to be the continued police crackdown on Pattaya go go bars in the Walking Street corridor, Catz A Go Go was raided this week. If any of you guys were outside of Catz A Go Go on Thursday night, you witnessed a half dozen beautiful girls being hauled off to police headquarters as a result of a police raid at this Pattaya go go.

This is the second such police raid on a Pattaya go go in as many weeks. Last week the B52 Club was raided and charged with immigration violations for employing Russian girls.

The girls of Catz weren’t being arrested for being naughty; they were arrested because they were underage. That’s right, Catz A Go Go has been using Pattaya girls under the age of 18 to dance on their stage. Those of you who thought the girls at Catz looked awfully young were right. They were young, too young.

Once they had all of the girls down at the police station it was discovered that at least 5 of them were, indeed, underage. That’s a big problem for the owner’s of Catz A Go Go. There may be other charges to follow and it’s believed that the Pattaya go go bar was operating without a license as well. This may mean that Catz will be closed down during the peak of the Season between now and New Years.

Last week the head of Pattaya police warned of an impending crackdown. Sure enough, Thursday night Catz is raided. This could be a signal to other Pattaya go go owners to clean up their acts.

Rumor has it that police found out about the young girls from an informant. They apparently sent an undercover officer into the club just prior to the raid. When the underage girls were spotted on stage, that’s when the shit hit the fan and other officers were called in to make the arrests.

It’s been a tough year for business in general in Pattaya and some feel that the police crackdown comes at an inopportune time. Others applaud the move especially as it applies to underage sex workers. Regardless of your sentiments, the message from Pattaya police is clear. Clean it up.

This comes in the wake of 11 Russian hookers getting busted at the B52 club earlier in the week on immigration charges.

In the most recent incident the Russian couples got drunk and decided to go for a romp in the surf at 3:30 in the morning on Friday. Those of you who were just stumbling out of the Best Friend bar at that hour probably witnessed the Russians cavorting on the beach across the street.

There were plenty of spectators present to cheer the Russians on as they proceeded to strip off their clothes and have sex right there on the beach. Now, I admit, Pattaya is a great place to have sex, but unfortunately they don’t let you do it in public. It doesn’t matter what hour of the day or night in Pattaya, sex on the beach is illegal.

It wasn’t long before a concerned citizen who was horrified at witnessing a sex act in Pattaya called the police. It didn’t take the police very long to respond to the complaint either. I’m sure they were just as curious as anyone to catch a glimpse of the Russian hanky-panky.

The Russian gang of sex offenders was quickly rounded up, covered up, and hauled off to the station where they were charged with breaking the law in Pattaya.

You’ve got to hand it to them; those Russians really know how to have a good time.

This was the scene at the Starting Line of the 2009 Thailand 4X4 Rally on Tuesday night.

Walking Street wasn’t just for walking on Tuesday night. It was opened up to 4X4 racing traffic for the start of the 2009 Thailand 4×4 Rally. Twenty one trucks from around the world participated. Teams came into Pattaya from Japan, India, and Malaysia. Local teams from Thailand also participated in the event.

I just happened to stumble into it Tuesday night around 8 pm. Local police had the street roped off as trucks and other vehicles in the competition raced down Walking Street and around the corner. Tires were squealing and engines were roaring.

They had the official starting line set up just about 100 feet in from the entrance to Walking Street. Each team would drive up to the starting line for a photo or two before speeding off in pursuit of victory. The winner of the Rally gets the coveted Crown Prince Trophy.

Apparently, the rally is a 3 day event. The teams have to follow a predetermined route that leads clear around the Eastern coastline if this part of Thailand. Tuesday night marked the beginning of the Rally. It will conclude on December 10th.

They had a Thai band, a bunch of pretty girls, and the Mayor of Pattaya all lined up at the start to urge on the competitors. As soon as the rally trucks left the area, Walking Street was closed off again and things got quickly back to normal.
