Many of Pattaya’s small streets, known as Soi, are nicknamed after prominent landmarks. Soi Diana is no exception. Soi Diana is officially called Soi 13 and that’s what the street sign indicates. But the stretch of Soi 13 that runs east off of Pattaya 2 Road towards Soi Buakhao is named after The Diana Inn that sits on the corner.

Most punters that are new to the Pattaya scene never make it past Walking Street. Who can blame them? There’s plenty to keep you occupied in Pattaya’s most famous and popular entertainment district. But take a stroll up Soi Diana and you won’t be disappointed either.

Just head up the Soi anytime after 8 pm and you’re in for a treat. Soi Diana is lined with numerous beer bars, restaurants, hotels, a coyote bar, and an air conditioned pool hall, just to name a few of the many options. If you hang around until 11pm, the street will really be rockin’, especially on the week ends.

Here is just a sampling of the entertainment on Soi Diana:

Kiss Food and Drink .As you head into the Soi, you’ll see Kiss Food and Drink right across from the Diana Inn. Kiss is famous for its excellent Thai food that’s reasonably priced. This first part of  Soi 13  is tame enough.

Beefeater Restaurant. Next up comes Beefeater Restaurant where you can grab a delicious steak before you head farther into the Soi for your night of adventure. Better to get a good meal in before the night’s activities.

Papgayo Coyote Bar. Just a little further along, on the right will be Soi Diana’s only coyote bar. Papagayo is a popular Pattaya coyote bar with the typical glass walls facing the street. There are some dynamite looking girls here and it’s worth a peek.

Soi Diana Beer Bar Complex. Just past the Papagayo starts the beer bar section of Soi Diana. This is where you can find the parties, just look for the balloons. There are a bunch of Pattaya beer bars, all under the same roof on the right hand side of the street. I think there are at least 12 of them. Definitely enough to keep you busy for a while.

Nid Beer Bar. Nid deserves a special mention. This place throws more parties than any other beer bar on Soi Diana. It’s a favorite with Scandinavians, especially the boys at the maipenrai forum. At least one wedding reception has been held here. If there’s a party at Nid Bar, don’t miss it.

On the left hand side of the street there are a bunch of other beer bars. The Luck Bar and Jim’s Beer Bar are popular. Take your pick. The beer bars on the left hand side of the street are smaller and the girls are even more eager to meet you.

Megabreak Billiard Hall Pattaya

Megabreak Pool Hall. Take a break from the Pattaya beer bar action and stop in for an air conditioned game of pool.

They have weekly double elimination and handicapped 9-ball competitions. Free food and table time before the tournaments.

Megabreak is another place to look for Pattaya freelancers who will wear you out on the pool table.

Also a good place to watch sporting events. They have fifteen big-screen TV’s.

Still haven’t seen enough Pattaya beer bars? Keep heading up the Soi. After Megabreak starts another area of individual Pattaya beer bars. There are at least another half dozen places with typical beer bar set up. Stop in at The New Orn Bar 2 or The All Bar One. Both have friendly bar girls and reasonably priced beer.

I’m telling you guys, you need to check out this area of town. You won’t be disappointed. If you make it all the way up to Soi Buakho, you’ll run smack into Oasis GoGo and the LK Entertainment District. But that’s another story. Enjoy!

Pattaya girls of Joker Bar know about advertising.

I was strolling down Soi7 the other night admiring the Pattaya girls when I was drawn in by an advertising campaign that I just couldn’t resist. The ad’s message was clear and concise and the offer was presented in an irresistible fashion. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a great advertisement in my life.

The advertising I’m talking about was being done by a group of Pattaya girls that work at the Joker Bar. They were standing out in the street in front of the Joker Bar and simply holding up cardboard signs. Believe me, they were attracting quite a bit of attention and just about every punter on the street was stopping to chat it up with the girls.

The Joker Bar is one of the typical Pattaya beer bars that can be found on Soi 7. It’s located on the Soi just about halfway between Pattaya 2 Road and the beach. On this particular night the Joker Bar was throwing a party. Besides the Pattaya girls and their signs, the Joker Bar had balloons strung up, a live band, and some beer bar party food ready for the punters.

The Pattaya girls of Joker Bar roped me right in with their direct approach, me and just about every other punter that was out and about for the evening. It was quite the event and business was booming.

Advertising gurus say that for an ad to be successful it must be capable of entering the conversation that’s going on in the mind of the customer. Pattaya girls know well what’s on the minds of their customers. I’d have to say that these girls hit the target square on.

Next time your in Pattaya, take some time to visit the Joker Bar and the many other beer bars that are lined up on Soi 7. If you’re looking to hook up with an enterprising Pattaya girl, just look for the signs.

Tahitian Queen Rock n Roll Bar

If you’re looking for rock n roll music in Pattaya, The Tahitian Queen Rock & Roll Bar is where you can find it. This Pattaya go go has been around since the end of the Vietnam War and it’s still rockin strong. Most of the local expats who hang out there refer to it affectionately as the “TQ”. The Pattaya girls of the Tahitian Queen are just as rockin as the music.

The Tahitian Queen is just about the only Pattaya go go that opens in the early afternoon. If you’re strolling down Beach Road on a hot day and want to get out of the sun for a dose of A/C, this is the perfect place. It’s also perfect if you’ve just arrived in town and are looking for some daytime action before Walking Street gets going.

The TQ is home to a couple of local motorcycle clubs and it’s not uncommon to spot some of the big bikes in town parked right out front. In fact, if you’re not sure just where the Tahitian Queen is located, just walk up Beach Road until you spot the Harleys across from the beach.

The Tahitian Queen is located on Beach Road right between Soi 12 and Soi 13. You really can’t miss it. Don’t expect any great big neon signs, though. It’s more laid back than that.

At first glace, from the outside, you might get the impression that nothing much is happening there. But once you draw back the black curtain that covers the doorway and step inside, the party begins.

The main stage at the Tahitian is right in the middle of the room. It’s a narrow stage and the Pattaya go go girls dance side by side. It’s long enough for about eight girls to dance at a time. After a dance, the girl on the end will step off the stage and a new girl will get up on the stage at the other end.

You’ll always find plenty of Pattaya girls at the Tahitian Queen. They work in two shifts, a daytime shift and a second night shift. If I remember correctly, the night shift comes on around 6pm. So, if you time it right, you can see both shifts. The TQ has some real stunners.

If you’re a motorcycle enthusiast you should definitely make the Tahitian Queen your first stop in Pattaya. Even if you’re not into big bikes, the TQ is a great place to relax on a hot day just to watch  the Pattaya girls dancing to some good ole rock n roll.

Best seats at Moon Light Beer Bar Pattaya

Sometimes I like to just sit and people-watch. The Moon Light Beer Bar on Pattaya Walking Street is the perfect place to do just that. If you’re lucky enough to get one of their front-row rattan lounge chairs, you’re in for a treat. At this Pattaya beer bar you can sit, sip beer, and watch the parade of characters that pass by on Walking Street all night long.

They have plenty of seats in the back as well, but the ones up front are the ones I like. It’s fun to get down there early in the evening, like around seven-thirty or so. There’s not a lot of action at this time of the evening but you can sit and watch all of the Pattaya go go girls as they head into work.

Moon Light Beer Bar is located right in the center of activity. It’s basically party central. Sisterz and Airport go go are right across the street. You can also get a good view of the entrance to Iron Club.  Besides that, it’s right on the corner of Soi Diamond.

So right between 7:30 and 8pm the girls start to roll in. I was just down there the other night and sure enough I spot this drop-dead-gorgeous Pattaya girl in one of those slinky black cocktail dresses walking down the street. I’m thinking to myself, “Damn, where’s she headed?” About that time, she turns and goes right into Airport.

Next thing you know, here comes another one in from the opposite direction. You know how they look with that long black hair and those really short skirts. It’s enough to drive a man crazy. This one also heads into Airport.

That’s the way it is down there early in the evening. It’s a friggin’ parade of hot girls all the way up until 8pm when the go go bars start to open up. I’ll usually wind up going to the club where most of best-looking girls headed into.

Right at 8pm everything gets cranked up. The music gets louder and the tourists and punters start to pour into Walking Street. From that time on it’s a regular zoo. There’s no telling what you might see.

Another especially good time to enjoy a front row seat at Moon Light is much later on at night when the discos finally get going. There’s usually a pretty good parade of Pattaya freelancers that pass by on their way down to Lucifer’s.

If you’ve got a good front row seat you can intercept the Pattaya girls on their way by. Be sure to keep an empty seat next you where you can invite the girls to sit for a spell before you both head down to the disco. It’s a great ice breaker.

The family that runs the Moon Light is pleasant in their own right. There are a few nice bar girls as well. There’s no pressure to buy drinks and it’s just a totally relaxed atmosphere. Check it out.

The Cocktail Car is the latest addition to the Pattaya bar scene.

One enterprising local businessman has found a way to become a part of Pattaya nightlife without incurring the high rents of real estate in the Pattaya entertainment district. The Cocktail Car makes its own entertainment district wherever it parks. What a great idea!

Disguised as a non-descript blue and white van in the daytime, this amazing vehicle transforms into a popular Pattaya entertainment venue by night.

Usually parked around Pattaya 2 up on the sidewalk by Central Festival, the Cocktail Car is becoming a popular rest stop with shoppers in the evening.

If you’re thirsty from a hard evening of shopping with your Pattaya girls at the mall, you can find respite right as you exit the mall. Just pull up a seat in front of the Cocktail Car and you can enjoy your favorite alcoholic beverage right there on the sidewalk.

The Cocktail Car serves up all of the major imported brands as well as good old Sang Som Thai whiskey. Their prices aren’t bad either. I stopped in for a Sang Som the other night and it was only 50 baht, which isn’t bad at all.

With tables and chairs set up out front, the Cocktail Car transforms the whole area into a Pattaya bar.

If you’re looking for bar girls, however, the Cocktail Car doesn’t have any. It’s strictly for refreshment. You’re certainly welcome to bring along your own girl if you want and a lot of guys do just that.

It’s pretty amazing to see how this little van transforms. The whole roof opens up to sport a big neon sign bearing the logo. The roof over the driver’s compartment also opens up with reflective glass and a spotlight. Actually, there are a couple of spotlights on the van which provide the lighting for the seating area. The whole thing has neon lights all over the place.

It has a bar on the very rear of the vehicle and a railing on the side to give it that bar room effect. They have a huge menu of drink items set up just to the left. It really makes quite a scene wherever it parks. You can’t miss it.

I have actually spotted a couple of these Cocktail Cars on Pattaya 2. I’m not sure just how many there actually are around town. There may be even more. Leave it to Pattaya to make it easy to find a bar. There are more bars here than anywhere else in the world. Now we have them on the street to boot.

Basilisk Pattaya Beer Bar

The balance seems to be shifting at the New Simon Beer Bar Complex on Walking Street. It appears that the Basilisk Beer Bar is overtaking the Frog Bar as the most popular Pattaya beer bar in the complex.

Some of the Pattaya girls, including that hot dancer that I reported on in October, have left The Frog. That’s the norm in the Pattaya beer bar scene. Easy come; easy go. There are constantly new bar girls coming in

Basilisk Beer Bar Pattaya has some new dancers.

and old girls going out or going home. The new dancer at The Frog isn’t nearly as good as the previous girl.

It looks like the Basilisk might just have the hottest girls at the Simon. I stopped by the Basilisk Beer Bar a number of times last week and the place was rockin’ each time. They have some sexy new dancers and the rest of the bar girls aren’t half bad either.

The Pattaya Tourist Police must be enjoying it too. They have set up a little rest station for the officers, right beside the Basilisk, so that they can watch the show while they’re taking breather.

The Basilisk has the same advantage that The Frog has in that it’s located right up front on Walking Street. The girls will shout you into this beer bar as you pass by.

Prices are the same as all of the bars in the New Simon and 120 baht for lady drinks. I personally think that’s a little steep for a beer bar, but this is Walking Street after all. Bar fine is still only 300 baht, though, unless they see a sucker.

It’s nice to see some new bar girls at the Basilisk. It makes for a more enjoyable time. Check it out next time you walk by.

B-52 Nightclub Pattaya

There was quite a commotion down at the B-52 Nightclub on Walking Street last night as Pattaya police burst into the club and rounded up all of the Russia dancers and hostesses and carted them off to jail. Apparently the white, blond, chicks have been working without the required work permits. They were all charged with immigration violations.

The B52 is a fairly new Pattaya go go and is known for its Russian girls. Now, why anyone would want to travel to Pattaya to have sex with Russian girls is hard to understand. But apparently the B 52 has been doing a booming business catering to guys that do. As for me, I’ll stick with the Thai girls. After all this is Thailand. If I wanted Russian girls, I’d go to Russia.

The police managed to nab at least 11 of the Ruskies along with the go go club’s manager. They’ll probably wind up getting deported.

The bust came down between 1am and 2am in the morning, so any of the girls that got bar fined before that time lucked out and will probably be back working tonight.

Since we all know that the best looking girls get bar fined first, we can safely make the assumption that the police only arrested the ugly ones. Who knows?

Galaxy Club also features European girls.

You know, every time I walk by the B52 or the Galaxy I can’t help but wonder how in the world do these Russian girls manage to get visas and work permits to work as hookers in Thailand? It must really piss off the native Pattaya girls.

Well maybe the Russians are finally getting run out of town. I suppose it was only a matter of time. We’ll see.

The EM Bar is one of the smaller Pattaya beer bars

One Pattaya beer bar that’s always a pleasure to visit is the EM Bar up on the corner of Beach Road and Soi 7.  The Pattaya girls that work in this beer bar are some of the friendliest and fun girls on the beach Road strip. Don’t expect a whole bunch of bar girls, though, you’ll probably only find four or five at the most. EM bar is a pleasant place to stop in for an afternoon cold one.

The EM Bar is one of the smallest beer bars on the beach road strip. As you enter they have a fully stocked bar on the right hand side of the room. They carry all of the local Thai beers and they stock all of the major liquor imports as well. There are stools at the bar so you can belly up to the bar if you want. On the left are three small tables with rattan lounge chairs. That’s it, and that’s OK. It’s a nice change of pace from the large beer bar operations all over town.

The girls are attentive and there’s absolutely no pressure to buy lady drinks at all. Drink prices are in line with the rest of the beer bars in the area and they even serve up complimentary peanuts.

I like to stop in whenever I’m up in that part of town during the daytime. It makes for a relaxing pit stop. I prefer to sit right at the front table by the sidewalk where I can watch the world pass by. Check it out, I recommend it.

Look for the Honey Bar Sign on Walking Street

I don’t know what it is about the Honey Bar on Walking Street but there never seems to be any customers in there. I have stopped in there on occasion just to check it out, but there has never been much going on. It’s just as nice as any other Pattaya beer bar and it definitely has a good location, it just seems dead.

I don’t know about you, but I like a place that’s got some activity. Every time I walk by the Honey Bar I glance in and there are the girls all just sitting around looking bored. I think the bar girls at the Honey Bar are a little older than the average age for Pattaya girls.

Maybe they need to liven up the crew a little bit. I mean, you walk by the Frog Bar up the street and the girls are shouting and whooping it up. There’s a dancer on stage and they’re pulling in customers. Everybody is having a good time. You can hardly pass it up.

The Honey Bar is located right on Walking Street on the right hand side of the street as you’re walking in. It’s a pretty basic Pattaya beer bar, nothing out of the ordinary. They have kind of an art deco theme going on with chrome bar stools around a horseshoe shaped bar with the ever present colored Christmas lights hanging down from the ceiling.

The prices of drinks and bar fines at the Honey Bar are definitely in line with other Pattaya beer bars on Walking Street. So why don’t people go there? They have two big screen TVs and they always show the latest sporting events.

Friendly Pattaya girl at the Orn Bar

The Orn Bar is your standard beer bar set up with a horseshoe shaped bar and a small dancing stage with a brass pole in the center. You can belly-up to the bar or you can set at one of the tables that are set up on the floor area in front of the bar. The bar girls that work at the Orn aren’t known for their dancing, but they do give it a little effort from time to time.

Besides the bar area they also have another entertainment stage set up that faces the bar area. Live bands perform at night on this stage. It’s pretty decent entertainment for a Pattaya beer bar and frequently people dance to the music as well. They actually put on small stage shows here featuring dancers and singers. The place really gets going between 10pm and 11pm.

Some punters even bring their Pattaya girlfriends in here to party either before or after a visit to the hotel room. Most of the girls that work at the Orn speak very little English but they have the Connect Four games to bridge the language gap.

I enjoy stopping in here early in the evening to enjoy a beer before heading off to visit the gogo bars that are located close by. If you’re staying up in this part of town, the Orn is also a great place to end up your evening. The Bay Breeze Hotel is right across the street heading up Soi 10. The Kiss Food and Drink is just a block down the street on the opposite side of road.
